Simon Pagenaud in the Menards Team Penske Chevrolet scored not only the pole for the Iowa Corn 300 at the Iowa Speedway, but the 500th all time pole for Team Penske, who is celebrating it's 50th anniversary.
Josef Newgarden was second quick in his in his Fuzzy's Vodka, Ed Carpenter Racing Chevrolet.
Helio Castroneves in his Hitachi Team Penske Chevrolet completed the top three in single car qualifying.
